Heartland Bridge is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining a transparent and trustworthy online directory experience. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard information for public resource listings, events and registered users of our platform.
Heartland Bridge gathers three types of information: 1) Public resource information sourced from publicly available locations such as websites, social media profiles, search engines, and other online directories; 2) Voluntary user information provided by subscribers during registration; 3) Public event information sourced from the same publicly available locations or submitted to us by registered users. We do not sell listing, event or personal data. We do not share listing, event or personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Heartland Bridge displays information about businesses, services, organizations and venues that are already publicly available. This may include: 1) Resource name; 2) Public address, including latitude/longitude coordinates; 3) Public phone number; 4) Public website; 5) Public social media accounts and email addresses attached to them; 6) Public descriptions, photos, slogans, or branding; 7) Public hours of operation. This information is collected solely from public sources and is used to maintain accurate, helpful directory listings. If a resource chooses to claim its listing, it may update the information we collected or provide additional information voluntarily. Claimed listings will receive a “Verified” badge once ownership is confirmed. If a business creates their own listing, they provide all the information and media displayed in their listing. We will not modify that information unless specifically directed by the registered user who owns the listing. We narrow the focus of our listings to those resources that might be beneficial to anyone with developmental disabilities and their families who are living in Nebraska or Iowa. But we will accept information from any other entity who would like to include their resource in our directory.
Heartland Bridge displays information about upcoming events in the area that are already publicly available. This may include: 1) Title of the event; 2) The date and time of the event; 3) Details and narrative about the event; 4) The hosting organization and its contact information (name, phone, email, website); 5) The hosting venue and its contact information (name, phone, email, website); 6) The URL for registration or additional information on the event, host organization or venue; 7) The advertised cost for the event; 8) Any media (eg. Images, vidoes) that advertise the event and details. This information is collected from public sources and is used to maintain accurate, helpful event listings. Event information can also be provided to us privately via our website or an email directly from registered users. We will not modify the information other than any basic formatting that may be needed to integrate with our website. Guests and registered users can link their own personal calendars (eg. Google Calendar, Outlook, etc.) via subscription so they can view upcoming events added to our calendar. We cannot access their private calendar information.
Registered users and subscribers may choose to provide: 1) Full name; 2) Email address; 3) Website; 4) Personal avatar; 5) Phone number(s); 6) Social media accounts; 7) Optional biographical information. This information is used to support account authenticity, functionality, communication, and personalization within Heartland Bridge. We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial data, government IDs, or precise location tracking.
We use personal information only to:1) Create and maintain user accounts; 2) Enable listing claims and verification; 3) Facilitate communication related to account activity; 4) Improve platform functionality and user experience. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share personal information with advertisers or external marketing partners.
Heartland Bridge is a cloud-hosted platform that uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect user information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure. While no online service can guarantee absolute security, we continuously work to enhance protection measures. Data will be retained for the life of the site, but any listing or user information may be purged at the request of the authorized user.
Users may: 1) Update their personal information at any time; 2) Request deletion of their account; 3) Request removal of voluntarily provided personal data; 4) Request correction of inaccurate information. Authorized users may request updates or corrections to their resource or event listings through our webpage or directly via email to support@heartlandbridge.com. They may also mark their listings as private (unavailable to any guest or registered user) or delete them at their discretion.
Heartland Bridge may display links to external websites or social media accounts. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third party sites.
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect improvements or legal requirements. The “Last Updated” date will always be posted at the top of the policy.
